How to avoid varicose veins

Varicose Veins is a painful and disturbing condition where the veins get enlarged because of too much pressure on the veins from the blood. This condition is very common in women and in the US alone, about half of the population gets this problem to certain extent.  On its initial stages, this is not a painful condition and people handle the situation without any kind of medication, however, it is uncomfortable to see, and therefore women prefer to cover their legs as much as possible.

Varicose veins is not a serious condition, however, it is common with obese women in their late 30th and early 40ths. Also, it is common for some women to have varicose veins problems at the time of pregnancy because of the pressure on the lower limbs. The blood flow on the legs slows down and therefore the veins become enlarged. Once this becomes a chronic problem then you can have serious problems as you can develop severe pain as well.

However, the biggest risk of having varicose veins is the clotting of the blood. If this happens you are putting yourself at risk of having those clots travel to the heart or the brain and that can become a very dangerous situation.

Another reason that has been found for getting varicose veins is exposure to the sun. And it is also been found that this exposure creates varicose veins in the area of the face.

Varicose veins can also be a disorder passed on by generations in your family. Normally people with family history of this disease will also get it themselves. However this is not something that you need to have if you take some precautions early on life to keep yourself healthy and fit all the time.

Try not to get too much weight on yourself during pregnancy. There is a lot of research going on, on the effects of obesity during pregnancy and they are very disturbing for you and for your child as well. This will help with any varicose veins condition. Also, try to get rid of the extra fat that you accumulated at the time of pregnancy at the earliest possible. This is easy said than done; however, it is not impossible.

Use sun screen to keep your skin and body protected from the sunlight at all times. This is something that will keep you looking younger all over and that includes your beautiful legs.

Develop a healthy lifestyle with a good nutritious diet program and exercise regularly to make sure that your blood is flowing freely and that you are fit and fine all the time.
